The two-hand respiratory coupling technology uses automatic five-point locking. The locking elements (balls) are locked in place by a spring-loaded release bushing.

The plug must be deliberately pushed into the coupling to release the connector. This releases the locking elements and allows the release bushing to be moved towards the connector.

The valve returns to its original position and closes the coupling. The safety couplings can only be decoupled using two hands, making inadvertent decoupling impossible.
